At Exotic Parrots Planet, the health and well-being of every bird we raise is our highest priority. All parrots in our care are professionally disease-tested and confirmed negative for Polyomavirus (PVD), Avian Bornavirus (ABV), Proventricular Dilatation Disease (PDD), Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease (PBFD), and Chlamydia psittaci. Every purchase includes complete veterinary documentation for your records.
We guarantee that all birds leave our aviary in excellent health—free from viral, fungal, and pathogenic bacterial infections, as well as congenital defects. All fully weaned birds (those eating on their own) come with a 7-day Health Guarantee. This ensures your new companion has the time to be examined by a certified avian veterinarian.
If, within the first 7 days, an avian veterinarian determines that your bird is unfit for sale, you must email the official exam certificate to sales@exoticparrotsplanet.com within 24 hours. When proper documentation is provided, we will gladly offer either an exchange or a full refund. Please note that birds hand-fed by customers or unweaned birds taken prematurely are not eligible for any refund, exchange, or replacement.
If the buyer does not have the bird examined by an avian veterinarian within the 7-day period following pickup or delivery, the sale becomes final and the health guarantee is void.
Understanding Weaning
A fully weaned bird can consistently fill its own crop and maintain a stable weight for at least two weeks prior to going home. While most birds sold at Exotic Parrots Planet are fully weaned, some species may require additional time or specialized care. In those cases, a weaning fee may apply. Do Our Birds Come With a Health Guarantee?
Yes. Every weaned bird comes with our complete 7-day Health Guarantee, allowing you time to visit an avian veterinarian of your choice. If the veterinarian determines the bird is not healthy, you must provide documentation within 24 hours for an exchange or full refund. All birds—whether weaned or unweaned—are tested negative for PVD, ABV, PDD, PBFD, and Chlamydia psittaci, and health records are included with every purchase.
Helping Your New Bird Settle In
When you bring your new parrot home, place them gently into their cage and allow plenty of quiet time. Although it may be tempting to show off your new companion or begin handling right away, your bird needs time to become familiar with their new surroundings.
Provide fresh water, fruits or vegetables, and a balanced pellet or seed mix as soon as they arrive. A peaceful first day helps your bird relax, adjust, and begin bonding with your family at a healthy pace.
